the words escape me
faster than my angered mind
can pull them in
whilst truth is known,
my heart keeps talking,
foolish sin,
the hatred deep,
the love unconquered,
yet victory awaits,
beyond this battle,
beyond this field,
in the glories of heaven's gates
oh save me Jesus Savior Father
Save me from this killing breed
Until my heart does hate no longer
And rests alone in sweetest peace
